Message from the Vice-Chancellor

Far-western University (FWU) was established in 2010 AD by the  Act of Parliament. Nevertheless, the university  obtained  approval  of  its  rules  and  regulations,  programs and budget from the  first historic senate meeting held on September 21, 2012.

The university has prepared its  five-year  strategic  plan and  it  is in  the  process of preparing a long term plan in consultation with the stakeholders of the region and beyond. FWU has  launched   undergraduate and graduate programs in  different  subjects  under the  faculties  of  management,  education,  humanities  and  social  sciences, engineering and science  and  technology  at  Central Campus of FWU. The university also has launched B.Sc. Agriculture porgram in Tikapur Multiple Campus, Tikapur, Kailali under the faculty of Agriculture Science.   All the  undergraduate  programs  of  this  university  are  of  four- year duration (8 semester) under the semester system except for the BBS program which still follows the  yearly system. The graduate/masters programs are also running in two-years (4 semester) under the semester system.

In  2018 FWU has established its 14 constituent campuses in the nine districts of Farwestern Region. We will further  explore the possibility of expanding its  programs and faculties in  all the provinces of the country and beyond.  Academic relationship will also be established with the universities of  home  and  abroad  in  the  coming  days.

To achieve the vision, mission and the goals of the university, as the need of the country and international market, we provide international level syllabus, practical labs, library and trying our best to fulfill all the necessary educational values. By these attempts, our students will be qualitative, competitive, creative, self-confident and they will have the confidence to achieve the goals of their life.

I  wish  all the best.

Prof. Bhusan Shrestha

Vice Chancellor
